Perform Inspection (Height Safety Equipment Inspector)

4 hour program

The Equipment Inspection Course covers the foundation required to inspect height safety equipment at a basic level. A perfect add-on to Working at Heights, RIIWHS204D Work safely at height.

  • MEM15004B Perform inspection

 

Remain compliant and ensure your fall arrest equipment is inspected by a competent person, your person at least every 6 months as per the requirements of AS/NZS1891:1-4

Aimed at providing candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to participate in safe and efficient rescues by applying work at heights and rigging technique methodology safely and competently, covering selection, inspection and safe use of equipment; access to structures and natural environments, handling and first aid of a casualty, risk management; and requirements of relevant Australian Standards, company procedures and legislation.

Undertake Vertical Rescue - Masterclass

4-5 day program

Aimed at providing candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake safe and efficient rescues by applying work at heights and rigging technique methodology safely and competently, covering selection, inspection and safe use of equipment; access to structures and natural environments, handling and first aid of a casualty, risk management; and requirements of relevant Australian Standards, company procedures and legislation.

Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR - HLTAID001 (Full or Refresher)

In this 3 to 4 hours course you will be conducting the following

  • Recognise an emergency situation

  • Identify, assess and minimise immediate hazards to health and safety of self and others

  • Assess the casualty and recognise the need for CPR

  • Seek assistance from emergency response services

  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with ARC guideline

  • Display respectful behaviour towards casualty

  • Operate automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturer’s instructions

  • Accurately convey incident details to emergency response services

  • Report details of incident to workplace supervisor as appropriate

  • Maintain confidentiality of records and information in line with statutory and/or organisational policies

Operate elevating work platform - Under 11m

Operate elevating work platform (Under 11m) - RIIHAN301D

In this 1 day course you will be conducting the following:

  • Access, interpret and apply elevating work platforms documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant

  • Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements

  • Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities

  • Identify and select any required tools and equipment, check for serviceability and rectify or report, verbally or in writing, any faults prior to commencement

  • Perform pre-start and post-start inspections/checks

  • Coordinate activities with others prior to commencement of, and during, the work activity

  • Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures

  • Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency

This 1 day course is appropriate for those working in operational roles undertaking work in confined spaces.

In completing this course you will demonstrates completion of entering and working in confined spaces that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes and including:

  • identifying areas that constitute confined spaces

  • complying with site and equipment safety requirements

  • obtain appropriate entry permit and instructions for performing work in confined space

  • interpreting and applying safe work method statements

  • apply tagging and lock out

  • selecting, wearing and caring for personal protective equipment applicable to all tasks and environment identified

  • entering the confined space

  • using atmospheric monitoring devices prior to entering the confined space

  • working in the confined space

  • using atmospheric monitoring devices during confined space activity

  • applying safe materials handling methods

  • exiting the confined space

Located in North Brisbane, the School of Height is Australia's leading edge height safety and rescue simulation and industry training centre.

 

Host to two towers above 6.5m, including an antenna installation mounting, three story tubular scaffold structure, 4 metre suspended bridge, second story confined space entry with trap door access,  telegraph pole and EWP bucket simulator, there's not much you can't do to conduct height rescue and safety training aligned to industry best practice.
